What is the Elder Cohousing Concept?
Elder Cohousing is a return to community, a return to listening and open-hearted communication, and a return to the much-needed voice of the elders…It's not about age - it's about wisdom!

Why is this community idea any better than any other neighborhood, condo, apartment, etc?
For all the reasons we listed on our main page and more - The point is to have a sense of security, know our neighbors, provide social cohesion as we grow older, have the motivation to care for ourselves, have a sense of identity, predictability, purpose and self-worth, and to help each other out with emotional, informational, and material support. All of the standard or status-quo ways of living in these modern times offers some or very few of these factors, but living in Wildflower Village and intentionally planned communities is the way to have them all during our older years.

What is expected of me if I decide to be a part of your community?
Join with us and help plan the finishing touches and help with the completion of this ideal community. You will have a chance to get to know all of your future neighbors before you even move in. As a home owner-member you will participate in all future planning meetings, have an equal voice in any decisions and add your financial support with the knowledge that every penny that goes into the project will totally go toward the final price of your home.

What will they cost?
Every home owner will own their own home and share the common areas. The final home design is not final yet so this is the ideal time to add your desires. The homes will be 900 square feet, 1200 square feet and 1500 square feet. All homes will be built completely energy efficient and our builder is giving projected energy costs to average from $35 to $45 per month. All homes will be designed to meet all of our requirements as we age and will be built with our safety assured. The projected costs of the houses at this time are in the area of $135,000 to $165,000. Preliminary house plans have been drawn up including one plan for a roommate house. Plans will be added to this site when they are finalized. Join us and have a say in what your house will look like. Homes are still available but they are expected to fill up fast.
