Here are some of our members and future neighbors.
Janet Martinique Retired Customs Broker
Janet is trained to be a Cohousing Director. She attended both the Train the Trainers seminar given by Chuck Durrett and Kathryn McCormick in California, and the Elder Cohousing Getting Started workshop led by Zev Paiss and Neshama Abraham in Boulder, Colorado. Janet retired after working 25 years in International Traffic and U. S. Customs clearance. Her loves are her two sons, six grandchildren, and two cats. She also loves to read and garden. Janet brought her knowledge of cohousing to North Texas, serves as our President, and is the impetus for the existence of Wildflower Village. Through community, she is hoping to prevent the isolation that is so common in old age.
Barbara Kalley Retired Microbiologist
Barbara has been planning to buy a house for six years, but she came to Wildflower Village late last year mainly for community. She wants to live among a group of people who know each other and socialize together. She loves the idea of people being able to help each other. Barbara serves as Communications/Hospitality Chair for Wildflower Village and knows this cohousing concept is the perfect solution for her future.
Claudia Klipp Nurse
As an aging baby boomer and a nurse, Claudia knows the importance of staying active both mentally and physically as we age. We are building a green, caring, and giving community where we can stay active, involved and in general have and be really good old fashioned neighbors. Claudia is the Meeting Facilitator and Property Chair for Wildflower Village. She envisions this community will mentor to other elder and multi-generational cohousing communities.
Jim Klipp Business Owner
Jim retired from the corporate world of sales management to open his own tobacco shop in Cedar Hill two-and-a-half years ago. He is active in the Lions Club, the Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and several other civic groups in the area. He enjoys painting, kayaking, woodworking and writing. Jim serves as Planning & Zoning Chair and Marketing Leader for Wildflower Village and has created much of our promotional artwork and presentation material. He and Claudia are very excited about helping develop their own neighborhood and they have been involved with our community project almost from the start.
